What is the history of Big Sand Lake Club?

Big Sand Lake Club, originally founded in 1891 as the Eagle River Fishing and Shooting Club, began as a rustic hunting retreat for sportsmen from Chicago. Over the decades, it evolved into a private, family-centered summer community steeped in tradition. Nestled on over 600 acres in Wisconsin’s Northwoods and framed by the serene waters of Big Sand Lake, the Club has grown from humble logging-camp roots into a treasured seasonal haven.
